Michael was raised on unceeded Syilx territory (Kelowna) where he studied at University of British Columbia Okanagan and received a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Sociology and Psychology. His academic and advocacy career has focused on policy implications of organising. Currently living and working on unceeded Coast Salish territory (Vancouver).
